Lumen

Health & Wellness

Lumen is a health technology company that provides a handheld device and mobile application designed to help users track their metabolic health in real time. By analyzing the carbon dioxide levels in a user's breath, the device estimates whether the body is primarily burning fat or carbohydrates for fuel. This data-driven approach is intended to help individuals understand how their nutrition, exercise, and sleep habits impact their metabolism. The brand targets health-conscious adults who are interested in optimizing their energy levels, managing their weight, or improving their overall metabolic flexibility. Lumen functions as a personalized health coach, offering actionable insights and nutrition recommendations based on the user's daily metabolic measurements. The company’s ecosystem includes features for food logging and personalized meal planning, allowing users to see the direct effects of their dietary choices on their body's fuel usage. By making metabolic data accessible outside of a clinical setting, Lumen aims to empower users to make informed lifestyle decisions that align with their specific health goals. The technology is rooted in the science of indirect calorimetry, providing a practical tool for those seeking a deeper understanding of their body's internal processes.
